Annual Yard Sale at OHS Offices, 110 King St
Now is a good time to clear out for spring – we can accept articles for sale at the offices -110 King Street –Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Jim Young will pick up any large items if necessary – phone him at: 905-337-7001 (Business) OR 289-259-0955 (Cell) Please note that we cannot accept items of clothing. Speaker's Night.
Ms. Ann Birch is the author of Settlement, a story of romance and adventure set in Upper Canada in 1836-37. Ann will talk about Anna Jameson, one of the main characters in her historical novel Settlement,. She will look at Anna's own 1838 memoir Winter Studies and Summer Rambles which outlines the astonishing metamorphosis the writer experienced during her brief visit to Upper Canada (including Oakville) in 1836-37. For more details, see the poster. (”Settlement” available for purchase $20 – cash or cheque only) Ms. Birch has worked for a decade in Toronto's finest old houses as a historical interpreter. |

Ghost Walks. Celebrate Halloween by joining Society volunteers for a guided walk around the oldest part of the Town with an eerie spine tingling sensation and a dash of old Oakville history. Hear about some of Oakville's ghosts and haunted happenings. Perhaps you'll see a spirit or two on your walk!
